We had yet another photo day!
Over the Mother's Day weekend, several of the students practiced a new lesson: leaving the box unaided! Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get good video of them beginning, but I did catch a few just on their way out.
Though it's her first time, and she started big with seven kids all at once, Hazel is a Super Mom. Here's Coopi helping to present a Mother's Day card.
Here's a bonus low-quality photo fresh from this Mother's Day morning!
Spot has been practicing her walking and climbing - won't be long now before she manages to leave the box!
In Kitten Academy, we teach students to be polite, and always raise their paw if they want to answer a question.
Today we open the gates of the Kitten Academy to the Internet locals to visit. Welcome to YouTubers, Facebookers, and Redditors! We hope you enjoy your visit.
We'd love to hear your comments and suggestions! You can comment below, or if you prefer to keep your suggestions private, you can email me directly at headmaster@kitten.academy -- take care to note there is no ".com" on the end.
Kittens are born with their eyes closed, and they stay closed for a little over a week. When they finally do open, kittens still can't see too well for several weeks. And their eyes always start out blue, but then a few weeks later, become the color they'll have for the rest of their life.
Hazel's kids have started to open their eyes!
Some new territory for us today! Hazel has been staying with us for a few weeks already. This morning, she finally gave birth to seven healthy kittens!
Warning for the squeamish: the video below isn't too graphic, but does contain a little blood and placenta.
2015 was a banner year for Kitten Academy. We had 11 students graduate successfully. And two of those -- Loganberry and Ari -- have stayed on to become faculty for the 2016 season! Farewell to our students from 2015, and welcome to our two new professors!
