Bill
Greetings, Kitten Academicians.
We come to you today with unfortunate news.
While we try our hardest to keep Kitten Academy a happy place, we sometimes find ourselves in an unwinnable fight. There's no easy way to say this: Bill departed us on the morning of October 18th, 2023.
Although we all knew Bill was extra smol and recently feeling ill, we did not anticipate his sudden decline. A few days prior, he started having severe diarrhea, which we'd been monitoring and keeping close contact with Dr. P at Aristokatz about. Even while at a conference, she was asking every internist she encountered about Bill's case, which did lead to some new treatments we were able to try in addition to the standards of subq fluids, probiotics, B12, steroids, etc.
Mr. A spent almost all of his time during Bill's last week close to him, even sleeping in the office with him at night. During the evening, Bill ate and used the litter box as normal, but around mid-morning, he started losing energy fast. Mr. A snuggled him all the way to the emergency vet, but by the time they arrived, he'd already gone. We hope you can find some comfort in knowing that we did every possible thing we could for Bill.
Fortunately, Quid is fully recovered from his bout of diarrhea and back together with the Petty Cash who are all doing great.
While we're upset at this loss, we'd like to stay as positive as possible and keep focused on the kittens currently at the Academy. We so greatly appreciate all the support you have shown and continue to show us, especially during these tough times.
